As the season draws to a close, the champions, promotions and relegations for the various divisions are becoming clear.
What we know so far:-
- With 1 game to go in Division 1, even if Steve Ledger beats Joe Valerio, his S-B tie break score will not be sufficient to overtake Paul Habershon who takes the title with an impressive 6.5/8
- Alex Taylor’s defeat of Joe Valerio last Thursday condemns Joe to Division 2 next year, along with Gerry Nolan.
- Nick Collacott’s impressive victory over John Harbour guarantees him promotion to Division 1 but not yet the title. That and the other promotion place will be competed for by Steve Pike, Chris Hill and Michael Joseph.
- Ben Pike and Peter Housden have been relegated to Division 3.
- Robert Walker has won Division 3. Ben Cox looks favourite to gain promotion also but others could yet overtake him. His game against Jeremy Burrows which could be decisive takes place next week.
