Time to brush up on your endgames

There was a small but distinguished group for the chess variations on Thursday last and I think everyone would agree it was a fascinating evening – thanks to Joe for coming up with some new ones.

The advice for the variations was to try and forget normal principles. That won’t apply this Thursday when Richard will be setting a series of endgame positions for the two teams to play. It should also be great fun, but also might well come in handy over the board next year. Richard will have to do a good deal of preparation so, now that the golf and football are over, please come and give it a try!
