Steve plays a “right mess of a game”

Here’s a right mess of a game from yesterday. About 15 moves of theory (that he’d prepared and I was desperately trying to remember from 20 years ago 😄). If he’s a 1798 then I’m a Dutchman, as they say. Outplayed me for the most part and was +27 at one point … time pressure came into play on several occasions and I was even +7 myself at one point. Feel free to point out a few of the many wins available to us both at various points.

Steve Ledger

[Ed – I Hope I’ve transcribed this correctly! I haven’t tried to annotate it but left a few alternative lines in at crucial stages – it looks a bit mad to me!]

  1. I didn’t really have time to do much with this and I’m travelling, but if anyone wants to annotate it, please feel free to do so – I think there’s quite a lot going on!
