The Bedford boys are still without a win after two rounds. Steve had the worst of the local derby v Adrian Matthews, agreed drawn in a knight ending with Adrian on a +1.3 valuation. I was soon struggling in my game which I append for the sake of completeness. At least I was finished off just in time for me to witness the 11-year-old wunderkind Bodhana Sivanandan dispatching GM Ameet Ghasi to reach 3.5/4 in the Championship. She really is quite something.
Still good news from Steve’s brothers. Andy won to reach 3/4 and faces his third GM, Simon Williams, in Round 5. Dave won his second round game to lead the 58-player Over 50s with just four others. In round 3 he faces the top seed Stephen Dishman.
