After four boards were drawn, it needed a typical minor piece ending grind from Steve Ledger to clinch victory for the A team.

Earlier, with Michael Botteley making no progress (see game), Steve Pike had a lost position and Ravi Arulnandhy was a pawn down.

Then Chris Hill lost his way (see position) and Ravi managed to equalise.

On Board 3 Paul Habershon secured a winning advantage but failed to see winning lines in severe time shortage (see position).

All in all a somewhat lucky escape for the A team.
