New subscriptions deal!

A new season at Bedford Chess Club is just around the corner and  Chris Hill, as the new Treasurer, is already trying to ingratiate himself by bribing the members with a cut price membership deal!

The subscriptions for 2015/16 will be the same as for 2014/15, that is £50 standard per annum, £40 for concessions – those able to draw a state pension or currently out of work and £20 for under 21’s.

However, Chris has proposed, and the Committee have agreed, to allow a “September Saver” discount of 20% for all those paying their subscriptions before 1 October 2015. Therefore the rate during this period will be £40, £32 for concessions and £16 for U21’s.

For those players who have not been a member of Bedford Chess Club previously, the rate will continue to be £20 per year for the first year, or part year.

The method of paying subscriptions will be streamlined to avoid undue admin time for the Treasurer. Payment will be by BACS transfer – you will have received an email with details but talk to the treasurer if you have any queries or if this presents any problems.

Please also remember that August is the month when your ECF subscriptions are due. There is a simple method of paying on the ECF website. Only paid-up ECF members may play for Bedford Chess Club in the Bedfordshire League or in the Club Tournament.

If you have any questions about any of this, please contact Chris.
