ECF Annual General Meeting

An informal report from Brian Valentime follows:-

An amazing number of items were passed nem com.  The new NEDs are Julie Denning and Steve Wood house. None of the above did not get a place this time.

The SCCU proposal was amended so that there is no penalty (their proposal was a reduction from £100 to £25) for defaulting in the final stages of the county championships. However the draw will in future take place at the end of March.

The strategy and five year financial plan were reviewed separately.  If you read the meeting papers you will see that the general direction was for the ECF to move towards improved services based on a modest increase in fees but also using reserved to pay for some of the development costs. The strategy paper was returned for further work but the financial plan was passed. No I am not sure where that leaves us either!

Bedford club was keen on keeping the UKCC going. It is quite clear that people are trying to get this to happen. However there are various issues, especially VAT, to sort out. There is not much the ECF as a corporate body can do at present.
